From the day I met them to their wedding day, Ashley and Brad have been completely calm. Even when rain clouds started creeping up on their ceremony…it didn’t matter! At the end of the day they would be Mr. & Mrs. and that’s all that mattered.

The rain held off until the sun went down, everyone made it to the wedding safely and on time, and Ashley looked stunning. Doesn’t get much better than that!

Take a peek of Ashley and Brad’s wedding day at Brookside Gardens. (I had a hardtime narrowing down my favorite, so get ready for a little photo overload!)

Ashley started the day by getting ready with her best girlfriends and the cutest robes.

Love that Ashley’s dad helped her get ready!

Ashley and her little sister, trying to sneak a peek of the groom. :)

Such a sweet first look!

Instead of a sand or candle ceremony, Ashley and Brad chose to have a tree planting ceremony. The tree symbolizes the roots of their relationship, and just like their love it will continue to grow as long as they keep nurturing and tending to it everyday. They will be planting this tree in their future home. I love this idea! What a beautiful reminder of your wedding day that you will see everyday.

Ashley, you were absolutely radiant throughout the day! So happy!

A quick kiss after the ceremony:

Not only did Brookside Gardens have champagne ready for after the ceremony, they set up it beautifully:

A father daughter tradition:

My favorite from the day:

Isn’t her ring gorgeous?

Congrats Ashley and Brad! I hope you are having a fabulous time on your honeymoon!

It is always sweet to take pictures of couples that have been married for a few years. It’s even sweeter when a couple never had engagement pictures taken! Katie and David are some of the kindest people you will ever meet so t’s no surprise that they are both in the medical field. They both love serving and helping others. He’s studying to be a doctor, and she’s studying to be a nurse.

I had so much fun capturing them in Chicago. Take a look into their session:

Always from left to right. 1. Welcome to my life in squares, August edition. 2. Mountain flowers. So tempted to pick these and take them home. 3. High up in the mountains with a storm about to start. Minutes later we had hail and rain!

1. Exploring in Colorado. It’s one of my favorite things to just start walking or driving and see where it takes us! 2. A dozen different sodas at my favorite candy shop in town. 3. Colorado sunset. Always beautiful. :)

1. Down by the riverside. 2. Pinic at the lake. 3. When I was a little girl I had my own little rock collection, and my obsession has never really left. We have small rocks from all of our travels, and it’s nice to add a few more.

1. No filter of a beautiful evening. 2. Our time at the ranch! And, I caught a fish! My first time fly fishing was successful. 3. Driving in the mountains on our way to the ranch.

1-3. The sweetest dog ever. She’s my little buddy.

1. Our day adventure in Aspen began at this ranch. 2. Feeding these cute goats. 3. A private spot at the pond, with ducks you can feed! They swim right up to you ready for a snack.

1. Maroon Bells at dusk. Awe inspiring. 2. About to make a wish! 3. Glenwood Springs.

Happy Weekend!

I’ll just be honest, August wasn’t an easy month. Full of little mistakes, lots of thinking, not enough sleep.. Thankfully the mountains are the perfect place to pause and let your spirit heal.

Oh, the mountains. The quiet that sets in as the sun is setting. The sound of rushing water whispering in your ears. Mountain air in your lungs, in the trees, in your hair… As if nature is putting it’s arms around you and holding you close.

Rachel and Alan recently moved back to Illinois and to capture this time in their lives, Rachel asked if we could have the session at their home. Pictures at home are my favorite, but I didn’t know what an amazing place they have! A little creek, a fire pit, a big backyard.. the list goes on. By the end of the session I wanted to move in myself! (And adopt their dog too!)

Here’s a little peek into their session:

My favorite. Rachel, you are gorgeous! And I can’t get over your Anthro dress.

Rachel & Alan, thank you for letting me document this exciting time in your life! Can’t wait to see all of your adventures in the midwest.
